Beyond Baptism ~ 2010 Trip to Tiap, PNG

June 28, 2010...

Did the story begin when we discovered that I would be the evangelist for the 2010 Aruama Crusade? Did the story begin when we found out that Sue Ellen would have more time to prepare due to her lay off from her job? Does the story begin when we get on the plane tomorrow?

Maybe all of those moments are beginnings. Maybe they are also a destination in themselves. The moment you realize that God is going to stretch you beyond your comfort zone. Or the moment you receive a fresh reminder that He is your only real provision (and all you need). I have learned that God is involved in the process by He also has an encounter prepared for us in each moment. He speaks stars into existence and is concerned about my back ache this morning. He didn't just wind the universe up and sit back to watch the top run down. He is intimately involved in our lives. And He cares about the details. He knows the end. But I don't. So, every moment is for me a beginning. And an answer. And another step in the process.

We don't know what God has in mind for our trip this year. We know there will be challenges and blessings that we have not imagined. We'll keep you posted as the story unfolds. Thank you for being part of this story through your prayers and support. We are counting on you to keep us lifted up before the throne of grace.
